"Real News" on Nov 2, 2010

More legit news - not from the weird news section.

Power Outage in Concord
This just in! The TV news reported that 10,000 residents in Concord did not have power. Think about that a minute. Don't you think the people in Concord could figure out that they did not have power by all by themselves? How could they see the bulletin if they couldn't turn on their TVs in the first place! Of the other 99.9% of the people in the Bay Area, how many do you suppose cared?

(At least this time PG&E didn't blow up any people or houses this time)

How much does the pizza cost?

"As part of a series of events commemorating the 25th anniversary of its arrival in Japan, Domino's Pizza Japan is set to hire one lucky person at the rate of 2,500,000 yen ($31,030) for an hour's worth of work in December.

Hourly pay for part-time jobs in Japan averages just under 1,000 yen ($12.41)."

(Of course, they'll charge 3,500,000 yen for the pizzas he delivers so they can make a decent profit. $45,000 pizza anyone?)

Transylvania and the Carpathian Mountains
Romania is planning a tourism page on Facebook. Romania? Dracula on Facebook!

(How can anyone take Facebook seriously IMHO?)

Microsoft Security

" …GOOGLE ...said it was told its product was "not compliant with (Interior Department) security requirements,." So Microsoft was awarded the contract.

And Microsoft is? Microsoft security is much like military intellegence - an oxymoron. To paraphrase,

"Security? We ain't got no security. We don't need no security. I don't have to show you any stinking security "

My the way, if you want "security essentials", i.e. anti-virus, for version 7, you have to download it. It DOES NOT COME WITH THE BASIC SOFTWARE!

(Do you suppose Facebook consulted Microsoft about security?)
